Raincoat
Spring is a lot of things. It is puddles. It is that beautiful green that only can be described as the potential in the trees. It is yellow. It is daffodils.
Last season we planted 450 bulbs in the south field. We rented a drill, chewed up 3 bits in the rocky soil and planted our little hearts out. Five and a half months later, the field is in bloom and happy visitors to the Four Corners are picnicking among the flowers. Boy does that make us feel good!
I took some photos of the field right before the daffodils opened.
The next real chance I had to photograph the field was a week later, in the rain. I think I wanted to celebrate my new raincoat. To be honest, I do not particularly enjoy photographing myself, but this moment seemed right. I have never had a yellow raincoat before and I was just so excited by all the golden tones of color dancing about in the rain.
My quick little experience made me recall these fun pictures from my 5th birthday. I guess I have always loved getting new raincoats.
My proud little pose below makes me chuckle. I'm so glad that some things stay the same.
